“WordDecryptor” created with the simplest interface, so we considered to give common instructions for the program.
After start of the program you should do one of two actions: whether create new project (a container which contains temporary information about status of the recovery of one or several files) whether open an existing project using buttons
or according menu points.Work with project consists of adding/removing Word files to the project. When you add Word file to the project the format check is started and if format matches and password protection is found - file is added to the project. To add files to the project you can use button
, main menu elements and elements of the “File” menu. You should pay your attention to that fact that files should not be removed from the disk location until the end of the work. Also you should remember that minimal additional time is needed to any new file added to the project, so it is better to recover several files at a time than recover them one-by-one.
To start the recover process press “Start” button. Program will start the main procedure of keys search of the files in this project. When minimized program goes to the tray. When you put mouse cursor over it you can see current progress and when right-click use the following menu (Show Decryptor, About, Exit).
If you need to interrupt the process before it ends use “Stop search” key. Program will offer you two ways of the stop: with saving of the current position (suspend, for temporary stop of the search) or full stop without saving of the current position (use this way carefully, because all progress will be lost). Suspended project doesn’t allow to add any new files into it or remove any existing. Also remember that when program is closed it saves current progress and stops the search., so you can continue with it at any time.
Current status of the program is displayed in the status bar of the program. When “working key” of the file is found label is changed to
and file can be recovered.
To do so you should right-click that file and select “Decrypt file” and file will be decrypted and saved to the specified location.
